Home Remodeling
A remodel should make the house work better — not just look new
Most remodeling projects start with something that bugs you every day: a kitchen with nowhere to set anything down, a bathroom that's been patched one too many times, floors that have seen better decades.
We walk the space with you, figure out what's actually driving the project, and put together a scope that fixes the problem instead of papering over it. Then we build it the way we'd want it built in our own house.
Some remodels are a single room. Some touch half the house. Either way, you'll know what's being done, in what order, and what it costs before the first cabinet comes off the wall.
What we do
What we do
Every home is different, so every scope is too. These are the kinds of remodeling work we take on.
Kitchen remodeling
Layout changes, cabinet and countertop installs, backsplashes, lighting and flooring. We coordinate the pieces so the kitchen goes back together in the right order.
Bathroom remodeling
Tub-to-shower conversions, tile surrounds, vanities, fixtures and flooring. Waterproofing is done right behind the tile, where it matters most.
Interior renovations
Opening up rooms, reworking closets and storage, updating tired spaces, and bringing older rooms up to date without losing their character.
Exterior improvements
Porches, steps, siding and trim repair, and exterior updates that improve curb appeal and keep weather out.
Flooring
Luxury vinyl plank, tile, and other flooring installed over a properly prepared subfloor, with clean transitions between rooms.
Drywall & painting
New drywall, patching and repair, texture matching, and interior painting that finishes a room properly.
Trim & finish work
Baseboard, casing, crown and built-ins. The finish carpentry is what people notice, so we take our time on it.
General renovation
The projects that don't fit neatly in a box — repairs after a leak, getting a house ready to sell, or a list of things you've been meaning to fix.
Worth knowing
Living in the house while we work
Most of our remodeling customers stay home during the project. Here's how we keep that manageable.
- Protected paths and floorsWe cover floors and set up a clear path from the door to the work area before demo starts.
- Dust controlWork areas are sectioned off, and we clean up at the end of each day — not just the end of the job.
- A schedule you can plan aroundYou'll know which days are loud, which days the water or power might be off, and when the room is usable again.
- One point of contactYou won't be chasing down subcontractors. Questions go to us, and we get you an answer.
Process
How a remodel comes together
You'll know what's happening and what comes next at every stage.
Walkthrough
We look at the space with you, talk through what you want, and take measurements and photos.
Scope & estimate
You get a written estimate that lists the work, the materials, and any allowances for items you'll pick out.
Selections & scheduling
We help finalize materials and fixtures, order what has lead time, and set a start date.
Protection & demo
Floors and adjoining rooms are protected, and old materials are removed and hauled off.
Build-out
Framing, rough-ins by licensed trades where required, drywall, tile and installation.
Finish & punch list
Trim, paint, fixtures and hardware. We walk the room and fix every small thing on the list.
Final walkthrough
We go through the finished space with you and make sure you're happy before we call it done.

FAQ
Home Remodeling questions, answered
Don't see your question? Ask us directly — we're happy to talk it through.
Do you handle permits for remodeling work?
When a project needs a permit, we'll tell you up front and make sure it's pulled through the right town or county office before work begins. Permit requirements depend on the scope and where the house is.
Can we live in the house during a remodel?
Usually, yes. We section off the work area, protect the rest of the house, and clean up daily. For a kitchen remodel, we'll talk through how you'll manage meals while it's out of commission.
How does pricing work?
After the walkthrough you get a written estimate that spells out the work. If there are items you still need to pick out — tile, fixtures, countertops — we list an allowance so you can see how your choices affect the total.
Do you do plumbing and electrical as part of a remodel?
We coordinate it as part of the project. Plumbing and electrical work that requires a license in North Carolina is completed by properly licensed professionals, and we schedule them so the job keeps moving.
How long does a bathroom or kitchen remodel take?
It depends on the scope and material lead times. A straightforward bathroom is often a couple of weeks once materials are on site; kitchens take longer. You'll get a realistic timeline with your estimate.
What if you find a problem once walls or floors are opened up?
It happens, especially in older homes. We stop, show you what we found with photos, explain your options and the cost, and only proceed once you've approved it.
