Roofing
Your roof, explained in plain terms
Roofs in this part of North Carolina take a beating — summer heat, afternoon thunderstorms, pine limbs, and the occasional tropical system blowing through. Problems usually start small: a lifted shingle, a cracked pipe boot, flashing that's pulled loose.
We get on the roof, look at the whole thing, and take photos of what we find so you can see it for yourself. Then we tell you whether a repair makes sense or whether you're spending good money on a roof that's done.
When it is time to replace, we handle the tear-off, check the decking, install new underlayment and flashing, and clean up the yard before we leave.

Worth knowing
Signs your roof needs a look
You don't need to climb a ladder to spot most of these. If you see one, it's worth an inspection.
- Stains on ceilings or in the atticWater finds its way in long before it drips. Brown rings on the ceiling or dark spots on attic decking are early warnings.
- Missing, lifted or creased shinglesCommon after a windy storm. Lifted shingles lose their seal and let water under.
- Granules in the guttersShingles shed granules as they age. A lot of grit in the gutters or at the downspouts means they're wearing thin.
- Sagging or soft spotsA roofline that dips or decking that feels soft underfoot usually means moisture damage underneath.
- Damaged flashing or pipe bootsThe rubber boots around plumbing vents crack in the sun and are one of the most common leak sources we see.
- AgeIf the roof is near the end of its expected life, it's smart to have it looked at before a storm tests it.
Process
How a roofing project runs
You'll know what's happening and what comes next at every stage.
Inspection
We inspect the roof and, where accessible, the attic, and photograph what we find.
Findings & options
We walk you through the photos and give you honest options: repair, targeted replacement, or full replacement.
Written estimate
Materials, scope, and how any rotten decking will be handled and priced are spelled out in writing.
Permits & scheduling
Permits are pulled where required, materials are ordered, and we schedule around the weather.
Tear-off & deck check
Old roofing comes off, and we inspect and replace damaged decking before anything new goes down.
Installation
Underlayment, drip edge, flashing, ventilation and shingles installed to manufacturer instructions.
Cleanup & walkthrough
Debris is hauled away and the yard and driveway are swept with a magnet for nails. We walk the finished roof with you.

FAQ
Roofing questions, answered
Don't see your question? Ask us directly — we're happy to talk it through.
How do I know if I need a roof repair or a full replacement?
It comes down to the overall condition of the shingles, how widespread the damage is, and the roof's age. If the roof is in decent shape with a localized problem, a repair makes sense. If shingles are worn across the whole roof or there are multiple problem areas, replacement is often the better investment. We'll show you photos either way.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Many residential replacements take one to a few days, depending on the size and pitch of the roof, how many layers are coming off, how much decking needs to be replaced, and the weather.
What happens if you find rotten decking?
We replace it before installing the new roof. Your estimate explains how decking replacement is priced, so there are no surprises.
Can you help after storm damage?
Yes. We can tarp to prevent further water damage, then document what we find with photos you can share with your insurance company. Decisions about your claim are between you and your insurer — we focus on assessing and repairing the roof properly.
Do you pull permits for roofing?
Where a permit is required for the work, it's obtained before the job starts. Requirements vary by town and county, and we'll let you know what applies to your home.
Do you clean up nails after the job?
Yes. We haul off the old roofing, clean the gutters of debris from the job, and run a magnetic sweeper over the yard, driveway and beds.
